The exhibition "nah dran / close" at Galerie Sophie Vandré features paintings, collages, and drawings by Eckhart von Glan, Thierry Harpes, Jehan, and Soloú. You can expect expressive and dynamic works that reflect the fascination of landscapes, the sea, and lakes, alternating between bright colors and dark tones. Discover abstract depictions of beach and harbor scenes, lakes at the foot of neighboring mountain landscapes, gliding waves, and imaginative sea creatures that speak of calm and power, movement and change, adventure and longing.

The expression "nah dran / close" can be understood in various ways in this exhibition, in the sense of immediate proximity, of something close to us, something that evokes a strong emotional connection. It also addresses the goals and results that the artists approach in their works. Last but not least, however, it also refers to temporal proximity, in the sense of a deadline that requires urgency, because nature ad especially water is a scarce resource that has taken on existentially critical significance as a result of climate change.

On September 13 from 2 p.m. we invite to experience the creation of own art works in person and “up close” in our collage workshop under the guidance of the artists Eckhart von Glan and Thierry Harpes. The closing event will begin at 5 pm with Jazz by Djatou Touré (Abidjan, Ivory Coast).
